Traditionally Bisbee was a major mining area in southern Arizona famous primarily for its copper. (The turquoise is a bonus!) A copper boom town by the early twentieth century today Bisbee is primarily a tourist town with a fascinating past as a hardcharging mine town. The Bisbee Mine is famous for historically producing a very hard Turquoise with a strikingly dark color and a spiderweb of matrix.
